The NFC Simulator is a tool provided freely with the Open NFC software stack. It runs in the Win32 environment. Its sources are not open.
This software emulates two NFC controllers (#1 and #2) and a set of virtual cards (see the Features page for details on supported formats). It is possible to virtually “present” and “remove” a virtual card or the second NFC controller in front of the NFC device #1. Special situations such as RF collisions can also be emulated.
The NFC Simulator can only be used with the Connection Center software. Depending on the NFC HAL for Simulator module you are using, you will be able to specify which NFC virtual device (#1 or #2) you want your Open NFC stack to connect to. This enables for example P2P operation between two instances of the Open NFC stack.
Please refer to the Features, Screenshots and Requirements pages for more information on the NFC simulator.
The NFC Simulator software is included in the Core, SDK, and Linux Editions of Open NFC. Its included User Manual is referenced MAN_NFC_0905-114.
