The Open NFC software stack requires at least, in terms of hardware:

• Roughly 128 kB RAM for heap and stack
• About 500kB for the code
• A timer with a resolution of 1ms at least

In terms of environment, the stack requires the platform to support several parallel threads of executions, and provide a means to protect a critical section.
